القريب
كلمة (قريب) في اللغة صفة مشبهة على وزن (فاعل) من القرب، وهو خلاف...
‘Abdullāh Ibn ‘Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) reported that the Messenger of Allah (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Pray (funeral prayer) upon whoever says 'there is no god but Allah', and pray behind (congregational prayer) whoever says 'there is no god but Allah'."
Pray upon whoever says "there is no god but Allah" along with his testifying that "Muhammad is the Messenger of Allah", even if he was from the people of deviant desires, innovations, or major sins; so long as he is not considered an apostate because of his innovations. Also pray behind someone who says: 'there is no god but Allah', even if he is a dissolute or innovator and has not apostatized because of his innovations. But, this Hadīth is weak, and another narration in Sahīh Al-Bukhāri is sufficient, which is reported by Abu Hurayrah that the Messenger of Allah said: "Your leaders will lead you in prayer. If they conduct it properly, you will be rewarded; but if they make mistakes you will be rewarded and they will be held accountable." As for praying (funeral prayer) upon a sinner Muslim, the Hadīth of Mā‘iz and other proofs show its permissibility.
