Ash-Sha‘bi reported that ‘Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) said: "If a woman is wed and she has leprosy, vitiligo, insanity, or a blockage (in her private parts), her husband has the right either to keep her or divorce her, as long as he has not had sexual intercourse with her. But, if he has had intercourse with her, she is entitled to her dowry because he has had lawful access to her private parts."

شرح الحديث :

This report shows that vitiligo, insanity, leprosy, and a blockage in the private parts are defects that give a husband the option to end marriage. This is because these defects preclude a long-lasting relationship between a husband and his wife, as he cannot have sexual intercourse with her due to these defects. Divorce is an option for the husband and in that case, the dowry should to be returned to him, as long as he has not consummated the marriage. If the marriage has been consummated, the husband cannot have the dowry returned to him.
