شرح الحديث :

Ibn ‘Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) reported that the Prophet (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) redirected the oath to the claimant. Here is what this issue looks like: the claimant does not have a proof, and the defendant does not want to take an oath. So now the judge wants to support the claimant's case, so he gives the oath to the claimant. If the claimant agrees to swear an oath, he is to be given the thing which he claims. Otherwise, his claim is null and void.
