‘Ā'ishah (may Allah be pleased with her) reported: Fātimah bint Abi Hubaysh asked the Prophet (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him): "I am a woman who has continuous flow of vaginal bleeding; so, my menses does not cease. Should I abstain from prayer?" He replied: "This is a vein. Abstain from prayer only for a number of days similar to those of your normal menses; then, take a ritual bath and pray." Another narration reads: "This is not (real) menses. So, when your (actual) menses begins, abstain from prayer; and when the usual days of your (normal) menses expire, wash away the blood and start praying.”

شرح الحديث :

Fātimah bint Hubaysh (may Allah be pleased with her) mentioned to the Prophet (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) that she was experiencing continuous vaginal bleeding, and asked him if she should abstain from praying. The Prophet (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) ordered her not to abstain from praying because the kind of blood that necessitates refraining from prayer is the menstrual blood, however, the vaginal bleeding that she was suffering from was the result of a ruptured vein. He ordered her to refrain from prayer only for a number of days similar to those of her normal menses. Then, when her menses would be over, she should take a ritual bath and wash the blood away, and then pray even if she was still experiencing vaginal bleeding.
