‘Abdullāh ibn Mas‘ūd (may Allah be pleased with him) reported: Mention was made before the Prophet (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) of a man who slept throughout the night until morning. So he said: "That is a man in whose ears (or he said: in whose ear) the devil urinated."

شرح الحديث :

In this Hadīth, Ibn Mas‘ūd (may Allah be pleased with him) says that a man who slept through night until morning was mentioned to the Messenger of Allah (may Allah’s peace and blessings be upon him). He missed the night prayer, as he slept until dawn broke, or another possible meaning is that he slept until the sun rose and he missed the Fajr Prayer. The Messenger of Allah, therefore, said: "That is a man in whose ears the devil urinated.” This can be taken literally, because it has been affirmed that the devil eats, drinks, and marries. Therefore, it is possible that he also urinates. It is a real disgrace for a person to be a toilet for the devil. The Prophet (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) specifically mentioned the ears, even though the eyes would have been more appropriate in the context of sleep, to indicate the heaviness of sleep. Ears are more associated with attention. He also mentioned urine, because it goes easily and quickly into cavities, thereby afflicting the whole body with laziness.
