‘Ā’ishah (may Allah be pleased with her) reported: The character of the Prophet (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) was the Qur'an.
The Hadīth means that the Prophet (may Allah’s peace and blessings be upon him) used to assume the manners of the Qur’an. That is, whatever the Qur’an commanded, he performed, and whatever the Qur’an forbade, he avoided, whether in things related to the worship of Allah or dealing with the slaves of Allah. In this way, the character of the Prophet (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) was an embodiment of the Qur’an. By this statement, the Mother of the Believers ‘Ā’ishah (may Allah be pleased with her) highlighted the fact that if we wish to assume the character of the Messenger of Allah (may Allah’s peace and blessings be upon him), we have to assume the manners enjoined by the Qur’an, because his character was an implementation of the manners enjoined by the Qur’an.
