‘Abdullāh ibn ‘Abbās (may Allah be pleased with him) reported that the Messenger (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) said: "The one who persists in asking for forgiveness, Allah will grant him a way out of every hardship, a relief from every distress, and provision from where he expects not."
The Prophet (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) explained the virtues of being persistent in seeking forgiveness from Allah in this narration. It states that Allah grants the one who does so a relief out of every distress, an escape from every hardship, and provision from places from where he did not expect it. However, this narration is weak. Nevertheless, other texts support the meaning of this Hadīth, such as these verses in the Qur'an: ﴿And said: Ask forgiveness of your Lord. Indeed, He is ever a Perpetual Forgiver. He will send [rain from] the sky upon you in [continuing] showers and give you increase in wealth and children and provide for you gardens and provide for you rivers.﴾ [Sūrah Nūh: 10-12]
