التعريف :


A peace agreement agreed with unbelievers to abandon fighting for a set period, in return for compensation or without such return.

المعنى الاصطلاحي :


Agreement between the leader of a state or his representative and non-Muslims to cease fighting for a given period of time.

الشرح المختصر :


“Hūdnah” (truce) between the Muslims and the disbelievers does not mean that we love them or their religion. Rather, it is a permissible measure between the two sides that serves the interest of Islam and Muslims. As for the principle of loyalty and disavowal, it means love and support for the Muslims and hatred and hostility towards the disbelievers and disavowal of them and their religion.

التعريف اللغوي المختصر :


“Hūdnah”: calmness, reconciliation between two parties.
