المعنى الاصطلاحي :

Messengers with strength and patience, and they are Nuh (Noah), Ibrahim (Abraham), Musa (Moses), 'Isa (Jesus) and Muhammad, may Allah's peace and blessings be upon them.

الشرح المختصر :

All prophets, may Allah's peace and blessings be upon them, are top in human perfection. They are the best humans and they fear Allah the most. However, perfection is of different degrees. Allah the Almighty made some of the Messengers more perfect than others and preferred some of them to others. Messengers with firm resolution come in the first rank. They are followed by the rest of of the Messengers, then the Prophets who were not sent to their nations, i.e. they were Prophets but not Messengers. The best among the slaves of Allah are His Prophets, and the best of His Prophets are the Messengers. The best of the Messengers are those with firm resolution, and the best of the resolute Messengers are the two close friends: Ibrahim and Muhammad, may Allah's peace and blessings be upon them, and the best of all of them is Muhammad, may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him. The ‘resolution' with which Allah praised and preferred them refers to firmness, patience, and strength. What is intended by patience in this context, is patience for the burden, trust and hardships of the message and patience for the harm of those to whom the messenger is sent, while being firm in calling people to Allah and being serious and strong in conveying the message.
