The times of day at which performing prayer is disliked according to Shariah.
"Awqāt al-karāhah" (disliked prayer times) are of two categories: 1. Times that are disliked because of a concomitant cause; in order to avoid similarity with the disbelievers in prostrating to the sun. They are three: when the sun is rising until it rises the length of a spear or two spears, when the sun reaches its zenith in the middle of the sky (i.e. when it is over head at noon) until it declines from its zenith, when the sun turns yellow before sunset until it sets. 2. Times that are disliked because of a non-concomitant cause. They are nine: before the Fajr prayer, after the Fajr prayer, after the ‘Asr prayer, when the imam comes out to deliver the "khutbah" (Friday Sermon) until he finishes his prayer, when the "iqāmah" (second call to prayer) is called out, before the Eid prayer and after it, between the two combined prayers in Arafat and Muzdalifah, and when there is not sufficient time left to perform the obligatory prayer.
