Giving someone a servant to serve them and look after their affairs.
"Ikhdaam" (to give someone a servant) is to give the wife or someone else a servant to serve them and look after their affairs. A wife is entitled to this and it is of the obligatory expenditure of the husband if she is deserving of such service due to her being of noble lineage and her peers being provided with servants or her inability to carry out her household chores on her own.
"Ikhdaam": to give a servant. Original meaning of "khidmah": one thing going round another.
