A small container made of leather to keep water therein.
"Idaawah" (small water container) is a kind of vessel made of leather in a pitcher-like form with a spout, a handle, and a circular base that is about 20 cm in circumference and made from the same leather to make it rest on the ground. It is used specifically to keep water therein. They used to hang it on camels and other riding mounts. It is used for ablution, washing after answering the call of nature, and so on. In general, there are three types of containers: 1. Food containers, such as the “qas‘ah”, “jafnah”, “sahfah”. 2. Drink containers, such as the “ibreeq”, “qadah”, “kaas”. 3. Liquid containers: like water, such as the “idaawah”, “jarrah”, “qullah”, and “qirbah”, which is a leather pouch with an opening on one side (waterskin).
