An innovated Sufi order which was founded by Ahmed ibn Muhammad at-Tijāni.
“At-Tijāniyyah” is a Sufi order that was founded by Abu al-‘Abbās Ahmed ibn Muhammad ibn al-Mukhtār At-Tijāni (1150-1230 A.H.). His name is derived from his birthplace, a Berber village called Bani Tajeen. The followers of this order embrace the overall polytheistic Sufi ideas and beliefs, adding that a person may meet the Prophet, may Allah’s peace and blessings be upon him, in a physical and real manner in this world and that the Prophet has given them a special prayer called “al-Fātih Li-mā Ughliqa”, i.e. that which opens whatever is closed. This prayer enjoys a very great status amongst them. At-Tijāni also claimed to be the seal of all pious and close servants of Allah and that he is the greatest savior of the people, during his life and after his death. By claiming this, he made himself a deity to be worshiped apart from Allah, the Almighty. Another of his claims is that the spirits of all pious and close servants of Allah from Adam to the time of his appearance cannot receive any divine guidance or knowledge except through him. And the list of false beliefs goes on.
