السميع
كلمة السميع في اللغة صيغة مبالغة على وزن (فعيل) بمعنى (فاعل) أي:...
Volunteer fighters in the cause of Allah who are not assigned a share of the military funds, even if they are wealthy.
"Sabeel-ullah" (the Cause of Allah) originally means the path that leads to Allah, including all aspects of goodness. However, it generally refers to jihad because it is thus used in Islamic texts. In the Qur’an, "Sabeel-ullah" refers to jihad, except for a few usages which are associated with it. In the context of zakah, one recipient category are those who fight in "Sabeel-ullah", without being assigned a share of the military funds. They are on a worthier mission because they fight for no return. As such, they would be given funds to buy war steeds and weapons and to cover any other expenses which they incur in combating the enemies, even though they might be rich. They are eligible to the rest of charities alloted to the "Sabeel-ullah", including endowments, wills, and the like.
