العالم
كلمة (عالم) في اللغة اسم فاعل من الفعل (عَلِمَ يَعلَمُ) والعلم...
Decisive will.
"Qasd" (intent): One of the sections of "tawheed" (pure monotheism) is "tawheed al-irādah wa al-qasd" (oneness of will and intention). Some people of knowledge call it "tawheed ‘ilmi" (monotheism based on the slave's knowledge of Allah). It is when a slave intends to please Allah by his worship, including his statements, actions, and will, seeking thereby the Hereafter, and without aspiration to worldly attainment, prestige, title, advancement or delay, or any other transient worldly interest. Its opposite is "shirk-un-niyyah wa al-irādah wa al-qasd" (polytheism related to intention, will, and aim): that the slave intends other than Allah, the Exalted, by his deeds, like when he does his acts for worldly benefits only, or when his acts lack faith, or the like.
"Qasd": intention and will. Original meaning: heading towards something. Other meanings: moderation, steadfastness, reliance, justice, and belief.
