التعريف :


A gross action that incurs accountability, making the perpetrator liable to punishment.

المعنى الاصطلاحي :


The sin that makes the one who commits it deserving of reprimand and punishment.

الشرح المختصر :


"Ithm" (sin) is that which should be avoided in accordance with the religion and human nature, or the act of committing what is unlawful. This term must be used to refer only to what is unlawful, whether what is intended is the punishment or the sins that entail it.

"Ithm": sin (in general), the sin that makes the sinner deserving of punishment. Original meaning: slowness, lateness.
