A notebook or label containing the description, number, measurements, and specifications of the merchandise in a package or container.
The "barnaamaj" (merchandise inventory) is a record, label or notebook containing the description of what is in a package, such as clothes for sale or other items. Selling items based on the information in such a notebook is a form of sale transaction called "bay‘ ‘ala al-barnaamaj", in which the buyer does not see the merchandise which he is buying, although it is present in front of him, because it is packaged. The buyer suffices with learning the description of the merchandise as written in the record without actually viewing and inspecting the items to be sold.
"Barnaamaj" is a Persian word. It is a record wherein information is stored about the merchandise of traders.
