The time that specifies the beginning of something and its end.
"Tāreekh" (date) is the time of occurrences taking place in the past, present, or future. It is a means for knowing many of the Shariah rulings like those pertaining to inheritance, retaliation, acceptance of a narration, enforcing an agreement, debt payment, etc. The time of everything is known by knowing the year, month, and day, or one of these three. "Tāreekh" is specifying the beginning of events by finding out their date to be able to calculate the time since they started and up until any other time. It is divided into two sections: 1. "Tāreekh" based on the Hijri calendar, using the Hijri months that start with Muharram. 2. "Tāreekh" based on the Gregorian calendar, and the solar year is equal to the lunar year in the number of months, but they differ in the number of days, because days of the solar year is fixed while days of lunar year is between 29 and 30 depending on the moon sight.
