The "Taraweeh" (voluntary night prayer in Ramadan) prayer is a recommended prayer for both men and women; it is performed during the nights of Ramadan after the ‘Ishā’ prayer, and its time lasts until the break of the dawn. The Messenger, may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him, prayed it and then stopped doing so out of fear that it would become obligatory on the Muslims. Some of the virtues of the "Tarāweeh" prayer include: 1. It is a means of forgiveness for one's previous sins. 2. Anyone who prays with the imam until the he finishes prayer, Allah will reward him as if he had prayed the entire night.
