The Arabic term "hasharāt" (insects) is used to refer to the small reptiles and creatures, regardless of their ability to fly. They are divided into two categories: 1. The creatures that have liquid blood, such as the snake, mouse, spiny-tailed lizard, jerboa, and hedgehog. 2. The creatures that do not have liquid blood, such as the gecko, scorpion, spider, tick, ant, locust, fly, and mosquito.
"Hasharāt" (sing. hasharah): insects; tiny moving creatures of the earth, such as mice, beetles, roaches, crickets, and the like.
