التعريف :


To have possession of something, as suitable to it, and to be able to use it.

المعنى الاصطلاحي :


Taking something into one's possession and having full control of it.

الشرح المختصر :


"Qabd" (seizing) means taking something into possession and having full control of it as one wishes, be it movable items that can be seized by hand, such as a camel, or immovable such as a house or land. The manner of "qabd" varies according to the item and whether it is movable, immovable (real-estate), or consists of benefits: 1. "Qabd of movables is realized by moving them to a place that belongs to their new owner. 2. "Qabd of real-estate is realized by giving the new owner access to it and granting him the authority to take control of it as he wishes. 3. "Qabd of benefits which are considered to be of wealth is realized by acquiring it, such as realizing the benefit of riding an animal or dwelling in a house, etc.

"Qabd": taking something in one's full grip. Original meaning: accumulating and assembling. Other meanings: ability, seizing.
