كلمة (الودود) في اللغة صيغة مبالغة على وزن (فَعول) من الودّ وهو...
Telling the lie about something contrary to the reality, intentionally or unintentionally, the opposite of which is truth. Other meanings of lying are: ingratitude, fabrication, falsification, deception, and error.
"Kadhib" (lying) means not telling the truth about an issue, whether intentionally or unintentionally, and whether it is known to be false axiomatically or by inference. "Kadhib" is one of the dangerous scourges of the tongue and an ugly trait according to all religions. It is a kind of hypocrisy as it hides the truth and displays falsehood. "Kadhib" can be done either by the tongue; by other parts of the body, such as using a hand gesture; or by the heart, such as showing ingratitude. It might aim at hiding all facts entirely or partially covering up some of them. It is divided into the following categories: 1- "Kadhib" against Allah, which is the most hideous kind, such as ascribing a falsehood to Allah, legitimizing what He prohibited, and prohibiting what He legitimized. 2- "Kadhib" against the Messenger of Allah, may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him, like ascribing false Hadiths to him. 3- "Kadhib" to people about worldly affairs and so on.
"Kadhib": telling lies. Opposite: "sidq" (truthfulness). It also refers to the lie itself; opposite: "haqīqah" (truth). Other meanings: ingratitude, fabrication, falsification, deception, error.
- a description of a hadith implying that it is fabricated and that it may not be attributed to the prophet (peace be upon him).
