A sect of the scholastic theologians believing their spoken words of the Qur"an are created.
The "Lafzhiyyah" is a sect that emerged before the "Ash‘ariyyah". They claim that the spoken words of the Qur"an (i.e. its verbal recitation) are created. The righteous predecessors considered them from the "Jahmiyyah". They divided the "Jahmiyyah" into three categories: 1. Those who believe the Qur"an is created. 2. The "Lafzhiyyah" who believe the verbal recitation of the Qur"an is created. 3. The "Wāqifah" who believe that the Qur"an is neither created nor uncreated. Ahl-us-Sunnah believe that Allah"s speech, with its letters, words, and meanings is not created, whereas the speech of the creation, with its letters and meanings, is created. In addition, they believe that whoever says that our spoken words of the Qur"an are created is from the "Jahmiyyah", and whoever says that it is uncreated is a heretic innovator.
"Al-Lafzhiyyah": it is derived from "lafzh" which means uttering, speaking. Other meanings: speech, utterance. Original meaning: throwing, hurling, ejecting.
Those who said: ‘my utterance of the Qur'anic text is created’.
