A place in Makkah between ‘Arafah and Mina. Its boundaries are between Al-Ma’zimayn and the Muhassir Valley.
Muzdalifah is one of the holy places in Makkah between ‘Arafah and Mina. The boundary of Muzdalifah from the east are two mountains called Al-Ma’zimān (or Al-Ma’zimayn), and the road to ‘Arafah passes between them. They currently overlook Roads 5 and 6 and the pedestrian walkway. The boundary of Muzdalifah from the west is the Valley of Muhassir; a small valley, approximately 270 meters wide, that goes through Mina and Muzdalifah, and it is not part of Muzdalifah. Its northern and southern boundaries are two big mountains. The northern mountain is called the Mountain of Muzdalifah or Al-Ahdab or Thabeer. The southern mountain includes the Mountain of Dhat As-Saleem and the Mountain of Dhu Murākh (also called Al-Muraykhiyyāt). Muzdalifah is the third holy place that the pilgrims pass by during their Hajj. It is also called Jam‘ and Al-Mash‘ar Al-Harām. They spend the night there and leave in the morning of Eid Al-Adha to Mina.
