المعنى الاصطلاحي :
Precautionary measure taken by a woman who forgot when her menses exactly or approximately ended, and who cannot verify the matter, whereby she chooses the firmest of the relevant rulings.
التعريف اللغوي المختصر :
"Ihtiyāt": going for the most decisive, most trusted, and safest choice; and applying the most comprehensive of the fundamental rulings that is distant from the confusion of interpretations.
