‘Amr ibn Shu‘ayb reported from his father that his grandfather, ‘Abdullāh ibn ‘Amr, said: "The Messenger of Allah (may Allah’s peace and blessings be upon him) said: 'The blood money of a woman in the event of bodily injury is the same as that of a man, as long ‎as it is less than one-third of the blood money (due for her murder). ‎'"

شرح الحديث :

It was reported that the scholars have unanimously agreed that the blood money of a woman, ‎whether Muslim or non-Muslim, is half that of a man who follows the same religion. In terms ‎of retribution for bodily injury, a woman equals ‎a man who follows the same religion, only as ‎long as it is less than one-third of the full blood money for her life. If it reached one third or more, ‎then it is half of that of a man. ‎ The rationale is that it is affordable to pay the amount due as long as it is less than one third ‎of the full blood money, while this is not the case when it exceeds that value. ‎ Although this is a weak Hadīth, the scholars have applied it for two reasons: ‎ ‎- It is not too weak. ‎ ‎- It was reported that the Companions (may Allah be pleased with him) acted upon it.‎
