المعنى الاصطلاحي
A female sibling born of one's parents or either of them.
الشرح المختصر
"Ukht" (sister) is a female relative that one cannot marry. She is born of one's parents or either of them. "Ukht shaqeeqah" (full-sister) is a sister born of the same mother and father. "Ukht li-abb" is a sister with whom one has only the father in common. "Ukht li-umm" is a sister with whom one has only the mother in common. An "ukht" could also be a sibling through breastfeeding, i.e. she was breastfed by the same woman.
