المعنى الاصطلاحي

The fleeing of a slave from his master to a different land in an intentional and rebellious manner.

الشرح المختصر

"Ibāq" (absconding/running away) is a dispraised trait and an ugly flaw. It is when an owned slave, whether male or female, flees from their master and owner, motivated by rebelliousness, disobedience, and intentional violation of the rules governing slavery and ownership.

التعريف اللغوي المختصر

"Ibāq": the running away of a slave from his master. "Ābiq": a fugitive, or a slave who has fled from his master; it also means fleeing in the general sense, whether by a free man or a slave. Derived from "ta’abbuq", which means hiding and concealing oneself.
