Joy and delight at the attainment of a benefit either for oneself or for someone else.
"Farah" (delight) is one of the attributes of the self. It is the feeling of delight and ease at obtaining some benefit, or gaining a material or a spiritual pleasure. "Farah" is divided into two categories: 1. Praiseworthy "farah": It is in return for the blessing of being guided to an act of obedience, or to an act that brings one closer to Allah, such as, the feeling of delight at breaking one's fast, or when disbelievers are granted guidance and embrace Islam; such "farah" is praiseworthy because it is from the signs of faith. 2. Blameworthy "farah": Such as expressing delight at the short-term adornments of this worldly life and its pleasures; or at arrogance in the land unlawfully, or at the Muslims' calamities, etc.
"Farah": delight. Opposite: "Huzn" (sadness). Original meaning: alleviation; Opposite to "ithqāl" (overburdening). Other meanings: cheerfulness, rejoicing at good news.
