Joining a child who is of unknown lineage to the man who claims to be his father if certain conditions are met.
"Ilhaaq" (ascribing lineage) is to ascribe a child whose lineage is unknown to a man claiming to be his father. To do so, the following conditions must be met: 1. Possibility of pregnancy to be caused by that husband, who has to be an adult, for example. 2. The wife should give birth to the child during a normal period of pregnancy, the least of which is 6 months. 3. Possibility of meeting in privacy for both parents after having concluded their marriage contract.
"Ilhāq": joining one thing to another. Original meaning: reaching, attaining. Other meanings: adding, accumulating.
