المعنى الاصطلاحي

A judge's ruling that a person has reached the age of majority (legal age) indicating that he has become able to dispose of his property sensibly and to manage it and develop it.

الشرح المختصر

"Tarsheed" (declaring one to be of age) means lifting the legal restraint from the young person after testing him to ensure that he has reached the age of maturity. This is done through trade, for instance, to judge his ability to manage and invest his money wisely. Managing it means spending it in lawful venues, and not in sinful or vain venues or in a squandering manner. "Hajr" (legal restraint) means restricting a person from disposing of his property. There is no specific wording for the "tarsheed" verdict. It may be achieved by statements such as: "Bear witness that I have lifted the "hajr" from so-and-so," or: "I have given so-and-so full discretion to dispose of his property as he wishes."

التعريف اللغوي المختصر

"Tarsheed": guidance, direction. "Rashshada" someone means guided him to the path of goodness.

التعريف
