الفقه أصول الفقه

التعريف :

In prayer, a person sits down with his right foot vertical and its toes on the floor pointing in the direction of the qiblah, and he places the inside of his left leg under his right shin, sitting on its ankle, with his buttocks on the floor.

المعنى الاصطلاحي :

Placing both hips, or only one, on the ground and letting the left foot come out from under the right one, or letting both come out.

الشرح المختصر :

"Tawarruk" is one of the sitting postures in prayer that are prescribed in the Sunnah. It has two forms: 1. The worshiper erects his right foot and rests his right hip over it, with its toes erected on the ground bent forward towards the "qiblah" (prayer direction). He then rests his left hip on the ground and bends his left leg underneath him, letting it come out from under his right foot or over it. 2. Letting both legs come out from the right side without erecting the right foot, and resting both buttocks on the ground.

التعريف اللغوي المختصر :

"Tawarruk": resting on one of the hips.
