The wife's daughter, down to all levels, from a previous marriage, whether she is related to the wife by birth (her biological daughter) or by breastfeeding.
"Rabeebah" (stepdaughter) is the daughter of one's wife from another marriage down to all levels; i.e. this includes the wife's granddaughter from her son or from her daughter. The term "rabeebah" applies to the wife's daughter whether she is related to her by birth or breastfeeding, i.e. she suckled from this wife while she was married to another husband, and whether she is entitled to inheritance or not. The "rabeebah" of a man is one of his Mahram women; i.e. it is permanently unlawful for him to marry because of the relationship established between them on account of his marriage to her mother. The unlawfulness of marrying one's stepdaughter is permanently established only if the man has consummated the marriage with her mother, whether she is raised under his guardianship or not, and whether her mother died after he consummated marriage with her or remained alive. The wife's daughter is considered a "rabeebah" in all such cases.
"Rabeebah" (pl. "rabā’ib"): daughter of one's wife from a previous marriage. Her son is called "rabeeb". It is derived from "rabba", which means: raising and bringing up. "Tarbiyah" means raising and disciplining.
The daughter of a man’s wife by a different husband, whether genetic daughter or daughter by breastfeeding, or the daughter of her son or daughter or grandson or granddaughter.
