التعريف :


God’s own word revealed to Muhammad (peace be upon him) whose recitation is an act of worship, and is contained in the muṣḥaf. The term applies to the whole and to each part of it.

المعنى الاصطلاحي :


The speech of Allah, revealed to His Messenger Muhammad, may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him, which one worships Allah by reciting it, and which is written in mus-hafs and transmitted contiguously.

الشرح المختصر :


"Al-Qur’an" (the Qur’an) is the revelation that was sent down to our Prophet Muhammad, may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him, for the purpose of clarification and to achieve miraculousness. It is the speech of Allah and the scripture of Islamic beliefs, acts of worship, rulings, and manners. The Qur’an has many descriptions, such as noble, mighty, great, and others. The Qur’an is especially described as "kareem" (noble) for several reasons, including the following: 1. The honor, majesty, and greatness of Allah, the Almighty, Who spoke it. 2. It honors humans and deems them superior to the rest of creation. 3. It is a book that yields much goodness and countless blessings. Those who read it gain reward, knowledge, and virtuous manners. 4. It is a holy book that is great and majestic in its words and meanings.

التعريف اللغوي المختصر :


"Qur’ān": that which is read and written in a hard copy (mus'haf). Original meaning: compiling and putting together, because it gathers chapters and verses together.
