Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) reported that the Messenger of Allah (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) said to him: "O son, when you enter your house, greet your family with Salām, for it will be a blessing for you and your household."

Explanation of Hadīth: The Prophet (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) advised Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) to greet his family with Salām upon entering his house. He clarified to him that such an act brings about blessings for him and his household. This is an implementation of what Allah, the Almighty, said: "But when you enter houses, give greetings of peace upon each other - a greeting from Allah, blessed and good." [Sūrat An-Nūr: 61] If someone enters his house, it is an act of Sunnah to extend Salām to those present in it, whether they belong to his family, friends, or the like.
