الشرح المختصر

"Dayn" (debt) is a contract of liability that guarantees the rights that a legally responsible person owes to another, such as financial rights incurred by a loan, a sale transaction, rent, causing damage, committing a crime, etc. It also includes non-financial rights, such as missed prayers, zakah, fasting, etc. A "dayn" is related to the debtor's "dhimmah"; i.e. his personal responsibility as someone eligible for "offer and acceptance" in transactions.

التعريف اللغوي المختصر
