The person appointed by the ruler to judge between people and bind them to comply with a legal ruling.
The "qaadi" (judge) is a person whom the Imam, king or ruler of a country has given general authority, or an authority restricted to a certain place or time or issue, to judge between disputing parties, obligate them to comply with the Islamic ruling, and issue penalties against those who break the law. The "qaadi" is of two types: 1. The "qaadi" who has general authority and, thus, can act freely in all tasks related to judiciary. 2. The "qaadi" who has specific authority, such as judging in affairs related to debts but not to marriage contracts, etc.
"Qaadi": judge; person who decides matters and settles them with his judgement.
An arbiter appointed by the ruler to look into disputes and settle lawsuits and claims.
