التعريف :
Religious usage of water to wash certain body parts in a particular way.
المعنى الاصطلاحي :
Using pure water on particular body parts in a particular manner.
الشرح المختصر :
"Wudu" (ablution) means using pure water on particular body parts in a particular manner. Pure water is the water that is pure in itself and purifying. The particular body parts are the face, arms, feet and head. The particular manner is washing the face, arms and feet and wiping the head. Ablution is made with the intention of worshiping Allah, whether it is to eliminate ritual impurity or to renew ritual purity. Some Muslim jurists divide ablution into two classes: 1- Minor ablution, which is defined above. 2- Major ablution, which is making "ghusl" (ritual bath) from sexual impurity or menses.
التعريف اللغوي المختصر :
"Wudu": cleanness. Derived from "wadā’ah", which means beauty and prettiness.
