Ibn Mas‘ūd (may Allah be pleased with him) reported that the Prophet (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) said: "The blood money for accidental killing is paid in five types of camel indemnity: 20 Hiqqah she-camels (in their fourth year of age), 20 Jadh‘ah she-camels (in their fifth year of age), 20 bint Labūn she-camels (in their third year of age), 20 Ibn Labūn he-camels (in their third year of age), and 20 bint Makhād she-camels (in their second year of age)."

This Hadīth shows that the blood money for accidental killing, which results from hitting someone whose life is inviolable without the intention of killing him, is divided into five types of camel indemnity: 20 Hiqqah she-camels (in their fourth year of age), 20 Jadh‘ah she-camels (in their fifth year of age), 20 bint Labūn she-camels (in their third year of age), 20 Ibn Labūn he-camels (in their third year of age), 20 bint Makhād she-camels (in their second year of age). This blood money is less than the blood money paid for intentional killing and semi-intentional killing. The way this blood money is less is that it is divided into five categories of camels, and it includes male camels, for people like she-camels more than they like he-camels. The male relatives of the killer are responsible for paying it. Moreover, it can be paid later rather than immediately.
