To abstain from whatever invalidates fasting, such as eating, drinking and sex, from the break of dawn until sunset.
المعنى الاصطلاحي :
To abstain from whatever breaks the fast from the break of dawn until sunset while having this intention .
التعريف اللغوي المختصر :
"Sawm": it is derived from "sāma", which means to abstain from and give up something entirely. This includes abstention from eating, drinking, speaking and so on. Original meaning: abstention and stagnation.
