Jamīl ibn Zayd (may Allah be pleased with him) reported: I accompanied an old man from the Ansār who mentioned that he was a companion of the Prophet (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him). He was called Ka‘b ibn Zayd or Zayd ibn Ka‘b. He told me that the Messenger of Allah (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) married a woman from Banu Ghifār. When he entered upon her, put down his clothes, and sat on the bed, he saw whiteness on her waist. Therefore, he stepped away from the bed. Then he said: "Put your clothes on." And he did not take back anything that he had given to her.

شرح الحديث :

This Hadīth says that the Prophet (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) married a woman from the tribe of Ghifār. When he entered upon her, he saw whiteness between her hip and ribs — a skin disease known as vitiligo. When he saw that, he turned away from her and implicitly divorced her by saying: "Join your family!" This statement carries an indirect indication of divorce. He did not take back anything of her dowry. However, this Hadīth is weak. It is explained only so that it be known.
